Nigerian man in a dilemma after his parents accuse his fiancee'sparents of having spiritual problems, refuse to go on with wedding plans

I wouldn't rush into making that decision. An adage says "What the elders see while seated, the youth may not see even when perched on a tree". My advice: Sit your own parents down, ask questions and listen to the answers with an open mind. Let the girl do the same with her parents. Then compare notes. If the reasons of both parents appear flimsy to you, go ahead with your secret wedding; but ask yourself some questions: 1. Would we still love each other this much and not regret our decisions if problems arise in our marriage? (e.g years of barrenness, job loss, poor finances, failing health, loss of beauty) 2. What if our parents NEVER agree to our marriage and turn their backs on us?
