Police IG Orders Nationwide Mop Up Of Illegal Firearms – Issues 21-Day Ultimatum

The Inspector General of Police, Mr. Ibrahim Idris Kpotum has ordered commissioners across the 36 states of the country and the Federal Capital Territory to embark on immediate, mass mop up of prohibited firearms in the hands of individuals and groups.

It would be recalled that the Lagos State Police Command has also issued a two-week ultimatum to individuals with ‘pump action firearm’ and other guns to submit their arms licences for verification and re-validation.
