Olivier Giroud Relieved To Score His First Chelsea Goal

Olivier Giroud said that “it was important” for him to open his Chelsea goal scoring account after the he scored in the team’s 4-0 win over Hull City on Friday night.

Olivier Giroud’s first Chelsea goal came three minutes before the end of the first period, and the January signing from Arsenal has admitted that he was “relieved” to register for the Blues in his third appearance.

“I was waiting for it. I had a couple of chances in previous games. It was important for me to score my first goal. It’s relieved me a little bit,” Giroud told BT Sport.

“We can see the team had a good team cohesion. It was important to bounce back after some disappointing results. This confidence is very important to carry on like that. We need momentum. Everything is going in the right way. We’re very pleased with our last two games so let’s carry on.”
