Motorcyclists warn against ban

In view of the statement by the Federal Roads Safety Corps to ban commercial motorcycles in Udu local government area of Delta state, as a result of the increase in accident related cases.

Commercial motorcycle riders in the council area have issued a warning signal on the dangers, if the road safety agency carry out the threat.

Speaking, the chairman Delta state commercial motorcyclist, Comrade Solomon Toka and a motorcyclist said it will increase criminal activities.

Other riders who spoke, distanced commercial motorcycle riders from accident related cases, and call on government to provide employment .

Meanwhile, since the ban on commercial motorcycles in Warri four years ago, motorcycle riders have relocated to Udu community which is a twenty minutes drive from Warri. It will be recalled the Federal Roads Safety Corps had proposed the ban of commercial motorcyclesnationwide over increased accident rate, while the Delta state command have promised to be the first state to implement it.
